In September Station 52 had 60 calls for service.
On 9/1/21 Station 52 along with the WCFD stayed busy keeping up with the storm. At approximately 10:48 PM, WCFD units along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute were alerted for a tree that fell on a house with a resident trapped inside. Units arrived on-scene and quickly alerted the Chester County Rescue Task Force to assist with the rescue. The resident was quickly rescued and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
On 9/4/21 The WCFD was dispatched to the 300 Block of East Marshall St. for Smoke in the Building. Crews found a pot on the stove and the assignment was quickly placed under control.
On 9/5/21 The Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester along with West Chester Borough Police Department and Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute stopped by to wish Jr. Officer Jack a Happy 5th Birthday.
Later on in the Night Station 52 was alerted to assist Stations 54/56(Goshen Fire Co.) on a Working House Fire. Engine 52-1(Lt L. Pierson) arrived as the 1st Due Engine. Engine 52-1 stretched an 1 3/4" handline and found fire on the 2nd floor. Engine 52-2, Air 52 and Assistant 52 also made the response. The fire was quickly knocked and the incident was placed under control.
On 9/6/21 The WCFD was alerted for the Electrical fire inside in the 1000 block Dogwood Lane. Crews located a problem with an electrical outlet inside the property
On 9/8/21 Station 52 was alerted to assist Station 39(West Bradford Fire Co.) for the Working House Fire. Engine 52-1(FF D. Jones) arrived as the 2nd Due Engine. Engine 52-1 stretched a 2nd Handline to the 2nd floor and assisted with overhaul and ventilation. Engine 52-2, Tanker 52 and Assistant 52 also made the response. The incident was quickly placed under control.
On 9/11/21 Volunteers from the Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute attended a 9/11 service at West Chester University of PA.
On 9/13/21 The WCFD was alerted to the 500 Block of South Walnut St. for the Building Fire. Initial reports were fire in the basement and PD arrived with smoke showing. Engine 52-1(FF D. Jones) arrived as the First Due Engine the source of the smoke was located quickly and the assignment was held to West Chester units.
On 9/16/21 Station 52 was alerted to assist Station 39(West Bradford Fire Co.) on a Working House Fire. Engine 52-2(Lt L. Pierson) arrived as the First Due Engine along with TAC 39. Engine 52-2 split laid 5in supply line up the driveway. Engine 52-2s crew stretched an 1 3/4" attack line to the basement. Engine 52-1(FF K. McCorkle), Tanker 52(FF M. Pearce) , Assistant 52 and Air 52(Capt P. Widmayer) also made the response. Crews had fire in the basement, 1st floor and 2nd floor. Units operated on scene for several hours.
On 9/19/21 members of the WCFD gathered at the Fame Fire Co. No. 3 for a housing and building expansion dedication ceremony. The Fame housed apparatus which included Ladder 53, Rescue 53 and Engine 53.
On 9/24/21 Station 52 was alerted to the 800 block of Lincoln Ave for the Fire Alarm. Engine 52-1(FF A. Smiley) responded at dispatch with a crew of 4. While responding, Chester County 911 reported an active fire at the property. The incident was upgraded, dispatching the remaining WCFD companies along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Whiteland Fire Company, Goshen Fire Company, and the Chester County Hazardous Materials Team. Assistant 52 arrived to a 1 story Commercial Building with nothing showing. Engine 52-2 arrived as the First due Engine and secured there own water supply. Engine 52-2's crew stretched an 300' 1 3/4" attack line and found a fire in the rear of the building. The fire was ultimately contained to a furnace area where materials are melted for production. Engine 52-1, Air 52, Squad 52 also made the response. Crews operated on location for several hours before returning available.
On 9/25/21 Station 52 was alerted to the 600 block of Westtown Rd for the reported Vehicle Fire. Engine 52-1(FF D. Jones) arrived and found a Trailer on fire with multiple forklifts inside. Engine 52-1 placed an 1 3/4" handline in service. An additional engine was added for water bringing in Engine 53. Tanker 52 and Assistant 52 also made the response. |
