On January 1, around 2:30 PM, Stations 39, 51 (for two Engines), 52 (for an Engine and Tanker), and 55 Ambulance were dispatched to the 900 block of Fox Chase Drive for the house fire. Engine 52-2 made the response with a crew of six (led by Lt. Creager) followed by Tanker 52 with two. While enroute, Engine 39-2 arrived to find a single family dwelling with a fully involved attached garage and heavy extension into the house. Chief 39 then requested the first alarm tanker task force, bringing a redispatch to Station 52 for the balance. Engine 52-1 then responded with (led by Lt. Davis), while Engine 52-2 arrived as the second Engine onscene. The Engine crew helped stretch lines off of Engine 39-2 to extinguish the fire, and Tanker 52 arrived and supplied Engine 39-2. All units worked for about two hours before returning to quarters.
