At approximately 6:30 PM, July 31st Air 52 was dispatched to assist Goshen Fire Company with a working apartment fire. Air 52 responded quickly with 4 firefighters. Upon arrival Air 52's crew was assigned to search the Bravo side exposure (one of the apartments which shares a wall with the initial fire apartment). The crew entered the apartment to a heavy smoke condition on the first floor and heat coming from the wall shared with the initial fire apartment. While members began opening the first floor wall to check for fire extension, others went to the second floor to check the conditions. As they made their way to the hallway at the top of the stairs, crews encountered fire running up the wall and along the ceiling of a bedroom. Crews called for a handline which was quickly stretched to the bedroom by Air 52's crew and used to extinguish the fire. Air 52's crews then began ventilation and overhaul of the bedroom.
Crews were onscene for approximately 1.5 hrs, during which numerous air cylinders were filled by the Air Truck.
